Rilwan Balogun is a multi-media journalist at Spectrum News where he covers the Piedmont Triad. As a general assignment reporter, he covers breaking news and crime.
Before making the way closer home, Rilwan was reporting in the Great Lakes State of Michigan. There he covered local news story that got national news cover like the Flint water crisis and Kalamazoo shootings.
He is a graduate from the University of Tennessee with a B.S. in Journalism and Electronic Media. Rilwan also minored in Political Science and Cinema Studies.
As a journalist, he tells stories that impact the community and resonates with viewers. Rilwan doesn't shy away from asking the difficult questions, always delivering accurate and balance stories.
When he's not chasing down a story, Rilwan enjoys running, trying new recipes in the kitchen, and binge watching TV as a self-proclaimed critic. He is an active member of the National Association of Black Journalists and a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated.
